 Once you've purchased hosting for your website you will mostly likely want to place a website there to either promote a product, share an idea, make some money, or all three. Even if you didn't purchase the domain specifically to make money though, you will still be able to make some from the web space if you decide to monetise your website and this can be a great way to get your hosting to pay for itself and to earn some extra profit passively without having to do anything for it. Even if you only earn a dollar a day it will still add up to $365 in the year and that's definitely worthwhile. Below are some suggestions for how to monetise a site on your new hosting account:


Place GoogleAds on the Site:
GoogleAds are the adverts you see all over the net that say 'sponsored by Google' under them. These adverts will automatically change depending on the context they're placed in in order to fit the themes of the adverts into the content of the site. Then each time a visitor clicks on one of those adverts the owner of the site will earn anywhere between a few cents up to a couple of dollars depending on the ad. All the publisher has to do is to design the ads on the GoogleAds site and then paste the code into the HTML in order to start earning. There are many other similar 'Pay Per Click' advertisers but Google is by far the most prominent.

Affiliate Products and Links:
With an affiliate product or link you are simply selling a product or promoting a website or service on behalf of someone else in exchange for taking commission on their earnings. For a gambling site you might earn money for simply convincing people to sign up, while more commonly you'll be paid a percentage each time you manage to sell an e-book or health supplement etc. All you have to do then is to write a convincing but positive review, or make a 'landing page' with your link included and then direct traffic to it. Here then you don't even need to make a website but instead can use a single landing page and then direct traffic there directly using advertising.

Selling Your Own Product or Service:
As well as selling other people's e-books it's very easy to sell your own should you know how to make them. Alternatively using print on demand services online you can also make physical copies of a book and have them printed and delivered each time someone clicks to buy one. Similarly using 3D printing you can sell ornaments and jewellery. Finally if you run a business and you use the site to promote your services you will make money from it indirectly that way.

With a Membership Fee:
Here you might start a forum for example and then simply charge a membership fee in order for your members to access certain areas. Perhaps you'd have a 'VIP' section of the forum and charge members to join there.

but there are more ways that don't revolve around a single website too. The fact that
you can buy new domain names very cheaply once you have your hosting site for
example means that you can repeat the above money making methods over and over
again across many smaller websites which is a favourite business model of many. It
also means that you can simply buy up domain names and then sell them on for more
money if you know how to predict things that are up-and-coming. This is called
domaining and when combined with the above techniques to fill the sites in the
interim is another powerful way to make money from a hosting account.
